Yogadventure in Yelapa, Mexico

Yoga in Yelapa Mexico

Yelapa is a tiny seaside town nestled on a hillside at the mouth of a river. This yoga holiday is village-style. We stay at a lovely, small, jungle retreat centre, Casa de los Suenos . Upon leaving the garden gate you are met by local Yelapa children going to school, farmers riding donkeys to work, and fishermen heading to their boats. Women selling eggs may appraoch you on the path, or folks simply wanting to practice their english. There are no cars. Everything that comes in by boat moves by foot, burro or horse. That includes you! Be prepared to practice your Spanish, eat great food, and get your feet dusty on the path or wet jumping off the boat!

Both the yoga practice and partnership with horses can be portals to a deeper understandong of the Self. The physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of one's yoga practice, as a framework for horsemanship, provide a template for self reflection and growth. Cantering with grace through an open field or simply running one's hands over the smooth coat of a being that weighs half ton can be life changing.
