Horse Medicine

As the body, breath, and mind are portals to the soul, so too is the connection to the horse. Eliza has been living with horses for over a decade, riding, learning, teaching, being. Through the experience of learning horse language from the ground, and moving on horseback, we can come to know more fully who we are and our place in the world. This is the premise of innerwave yoga and horse medicine.

Eliza’s horses are relaxed yet aware, curious yet patient. They have been taught to breath, pause, and choose, instead of react from an innate flight response. This fundamental is an excellent lesson for us two-leggeds! These teachers offer a unique platform, not only to learn to ride, but to learn to reflect on our own nature.

Using the principles of centered riding as taught by Sally Swift and yoga techniques, Eliza works with beginner adults and children to become fully-embodied, compassionate horse riders. Once learned, these principles can be incorporated into any discipline, the trail, the dressage arena, the western show.
